We are looking for candidates for the position of Senior Manager Corporate Services at a Large Multinational Construction Company.

Essential Requirements:
-- Recent experience in prestigious or multinational company
-- About 15 years (or more) work experience

-- UAE experience preferred

Job Purpose:
-- Effectively manage a portfolio of functions that offer key essential services to the Company in the areas of Procurement, Consumables, Contracting, Insurance and Administration. Provide professional advice to the company, while ensuring standards are achieved, communicated and maintained.
Nature and Scope:

development, acquisition, sale, management and maintenance of its property.

developer of, and investor in a diversified portfolio of high quality properties.

-- The position reports directly to the CEO and the job holder is a member of the core
management group.
-- The Job Holder provides the direction necessary for the achievement of agreed
strategic objectives as well as monitoring their implementation. The job holder
stays in close touch with each member of the Management group to determine
the direction and development of the business and to implement policy decisions
covering the short and the long term.
-- The job holder interacts daily and works closely with the CEO and is one of his
key advisors. The combination of his responsibilities in the areas of Supply,
Administration and Insurance functions makes him the focal point of all negotiations
and contractual agreements the Company has with its vendors (suppliers,
contractors and consultants) locally and around the world.
He has 3 direct reports: -
Manager, Purchasing
Manager, Contracts
Manager, Administration
-- The job holder manages his subordinates through the defined objectives process
and through regular individual meetings. In that respect he is therefore, supported
by his direct reports who are considered and treated as experts in the field and the
job holder’s role is to lay down policy and strategy to ensure that the Company’s best
interests are served at all times through discussions with these experts and leaving
tactical aspects to their initiative.
-- The job holder also works closely with the Financial Controller to ascertain that
appropriate engineering, contractual and financial records are maintained for the all
identified projects.
-- He plays a more direct role in managing Supply where he is personally involved in
negotiating supply contracts for procurement/construction contracts of all materials
and projects.
-- In view of the significant financial implications relating to supply, he also personally
gets involved in reviewing and discussing tactics with the Development and
construction management.
-- The job holder is responsible for ensuring that the staff in his areas of management is
competent and properly trained and developed.
Principal Accountabilities:
-- Contribute, as a member of the Management Group, to the formulation of an overall strategy
for the Company and play a role in the corporate decision making on a continuing basis.
-- Ensure the development, maintenance and implementation of purchasing standards and
policies so that materials and construction of projects are either purchased or executed
on the best possible terms for the Company and within proper standards of personal and
corporate integrity.
-- Negotiate and review as necessary, long term contractual commitments for construction with
the qualified contractors so that the company’s interests are protected and promoted.
-- Ensure, by leading all placement and claim negotiations, that the Company has appropriate
and cost effective insurance protection.
-- Ensure that the Company’s public image with the community, its customers and employees
is positive and supportive of its business strategy.
-- Direct and control the operations of the Administration Department so that the Company has
effective running operations.
-- Develop and implement personnel policies which are in line with Company vision
and to facilitate effective people management. In addition to prepare and
execute the manpower plan/budget.
Qualifications and Experience (Competencies Required)
-- Recognised professional qualification or equivalent.
-- Minimum 13 years relevant work experience with exposure to the Real Estate Development sector.
-- Preferably has spent the last 5 years in a senior Management role within a large corporate.
-- Strategic thinker with strong commercial skills.
-- Strong leadership ability
-- Strong Interpersonal and communication skills.
-- Analytical mind and decision-making ability.
-- Self-starter with the ability to establish a high performing Finance function from scratch.
-- Technically strong with an ability to develop and implement systems, procedures and policies and a strong understanding of computerized information management systems.
-- Comfortable in an environment of change
