National logistics Cell (NLC) has entered into an agreement with Pakistan Railways to run Freight Trains on PR Network under open Track Access Policy as envisaged by the government of Pakistan. It has also purchased 10 x locomotives from Korail (Korea). NLC is establishing maintenance facilities for the maintenance and repair of diesel electric Locomotives and Rolling Stock at Karachi and up country. Applications are invited for the post of General Manager as per following details:
1. Job Description
Responsible for the maintenance and up keep of the locomotive fleet and stock owned by NLC.
Responsible for safe and punctual running of trains and freight train operations.
Advise on all operational and maintenance matters.
2. Qualification / Experience
Electrical /Mechanical Engineer – having BE B.Sc / M.Sc Engineering or equivalent from a HEC recognized University.
Retired officer of Pak Railways.
Should have served in Engineering /Maintenance Department of PR for 25-30 years.
Should have served as Divisional Superintendent, Chief / Dy Chief Mechanical Engineer PR, thus having experience of “Maintenance, Operations and Management”.
Preferably, should have served in the senior Management position of PR.
Should have experience of running and maintenance of Diesel Electric Locomotive especially (GMU-30)
Installation/commissioning of heavy machinery / equipment.
Should have sufficient knowledge in the following field:-
(1) Management & Organizational Development.
(2) Human Resource Management and Accounting.
(3) Effective communications and negotiations /
(4) Public private partnership in Rail Infrastructure.
(5) Operations and Transport economics.
(6) Strategic logistics and project Management
