The role requires the successful candidate to trouble shoot mechanical equipment issues, repair the equipment as required and train and mentor a local workforce to correctly maintain modern piling equipment which is engaged in numerous projects throughout KSA. He will provide technical guidance and hands on support to the existing maintenance team, when they are involved in complex repair and maintenance programs. His main role will be to trouble shoot mechanical issues with the equipment and advise the team on the correct and most cost effective solutions. The role requires extensive site to site travel over fairly large distances with limited notice and will be on an ‘as required basis’. He will support the PMS Manager in his role to implement a solid maintenance program for the company
• Trained by manufacturer or large piling company with at least 10 years experience
• Strong relationship skills with the ability to instruct a multi racial workforce on best maintenance practices associated with the operation and productivity of modern piling equipment
• Excellent communications skills in all media and must be computer literate
• Last five years must have been spent on modern rigs including units from Soilmec, Bauer, Casagrande and Trive; candidate would ideally come from a manufacturer’s or large piling company training program and have held a piling rig mechanic’s position for at least 10 years in one of the big piling companies like Arsleff, Van Elle, Bauer, Cementation, Rock and Alluvium or Stent.
• Extensive knowledge of Modern Engines, Hydraulic Pumps and Motors and their associated Control Systems used on modern piling rigs. Must be able to trouble shoot, overhaul and repair all of the rig components above
• Must be able to use electronic diagnostic tools and systems including software
• Extensive knowledge of hard rock piling, bentonite supported deep piles, large compressors, Down the Hole hammers and anchor rigs
• Extensive knowledge of all associated piling tools and their efficient and correct use and maintenance
• Must be able to operate the rigs described above and have intimate knowledge of the electronic control and monitoring systems found on modern piling rigs
• Overseas experience would be an advantage but not essential
• Some knowledge of the Arabic language would be desirable but not essential
