To help resolve the humanitarian problems peopleof Pakistan, especially after the devastating floods of last last year INTHE countries, OCHA has strengthened its presence in Pakistan establishingfield office to provide support to UN agencies, NGOs, donors andother humanitarian organizations working in Pakistan. One of strategicpriorities OCHA will support the Humanitarian Coordinator in the dissemination of the coordination of public information, media relations and assistance forhumanitarian plea for the people of Pakistan affected by recentflooding, the current response to the conflict in northern and northwestern areas ofPakistan and overall emergency preparedness throughout the country.
Terms of Reference:
IT Assistant works under the general supervision of ofNational IT Officer, OCHA-Pakistan and is responsible followingtasks:
Server hardware and software - to support, maintain and manage the server hardware and software systems. Provide data in markets hardware and software that keep the cost factor and emerging trends / technologies in mind;
Documentation - Help with creating, formatting and maintenance of network and information systems documentation;
Network Security - Pro-actively manage the security of server systems, messaging, mail server, firewalls and hosted systems against threats that could destroy data;
Monitoring and logging - Review and maintain a network of logging and monitoring (ie monitoring server performance);
Data collection and research - the most recent changes technology, applied to systems, industry trends and developments especially in Networking Infrastructure, and new trends in wireless networking, along with a third instrument of power to optimize access Remote;
Training and facilitation - the transfer of personal information necessary for the project to increase the opportunities for a broader understanding of information technology;
